When we meditate, we can take an outsider perspective on ourselves.

We can see the reality of our emotions coming and going, and thus, they don’t pose such a threat. I don’t have enough space to list all the benefits of meditation—suffice to say science has proven that just 20 minutes of meditation leads to better sleep and focus, less stress and anxiety, and a whole host of other benefits!

I came to Buddhist instruction through a dear friend in 2010. Since then, I’ve alternated between a solo practitioner and group practitioner of meditation, in person and online.

Yoga Nidra is a kind of conscious relaxation, through guided prompts.

It’s been called “Yogic Sleep”. There’s additionally strong, empirical evidence that Yoga Nidra can be an effective tool in trauma/PTSD recovery. There’s very little movement involved. All you need to get started is the desire to relax. Really!

I met Mia Park in 2016 at a Trauma Informed Movement Instructor training. I felt immediately struck by her present and kind nature. I completed her Yoga Nidra teacher training in 2022.
